When we wanted to purchase an apartment in Altinkum we went through Turkish House Hunters, this agency was recommended to us from some friends who had also recently bought a property in the area. We found Mehmet & Rachel very helpful throughout the whole experience. We had initial telephone conversations during which Rachel clearly explained what would happen during our visit. On arrivalin Turkey the agency arranged to meet us at the airport and also booked our accommodation. Over the next 2 days Mehmet showed us around approximately 20 apartments. Nothing was too much trouble for Mehmet. Once we’d made our decision he arranged the solicitors, the translators and ensured all of the paperwork was ready so that we could sign up by the end of our stay which was only 4 days. THH ensured everything was really efficient and straightforward for us. During our next visit to Altinkum we furnished the property and again Mehmet was on hand to take us around the best furniture stores, curtain shops, electrical shops etc and translated & negotiated where necessary for us. We also use Turkish Househunters to do our property checks, arrange airport transfers, arrange replacement gas cylinders etc. We have called them from home for various reasons over the last 2 years and nothing has ever been too much trouble. A lady called Belma is generally in charge of the office and she is so friendly and efficient, we feel very reassured that our apartment is ok year round despite being so far away for it. We were always very nervous of buying a property abroad, you hear such horror stories but our experience has been very good and we feel that THH have a lot to do with that.
